Last Minute Halloween Fun

All a quilter needs is a few hours to have a festive, new Halloween wear!

This fall was especially busy with a long trip to Europe and a bunch of memory quilts to get completed, so I didn’t have time to make a new Halloween quilt this year.

But do you know what I did have…..a few hours and lots of scraps from my Ghost party quilt!

I made this patchwork witch hat using Polkadot Chair’s witch hat pattern. She did such a beautiful job on it, why re-invent the wheel?!

I quilted it in a very tight grid pattern on the brim, and a wider grid along the pointy part of the hat. I didn’t have any flex foam, but was able to use a really stiff interfacing that I randomly picked up from Joanns when they were closing.

I was unsure of the witchy accessories white print on the top of the hat, but more of the bottom shows so I figured it should be the black fabric and the white can just peek at the top. I love all the witch shoes and brooms and ghosts!

I think this is the end of my ghost party quilt scraps. I think it put them to good use! In fact, I’ll be wearing my hat while bundled up in the quilt to keep warm tonight. It’ll be the perfect touch to being a Quilty witch.
