A Special Quilt: All for me!

After my cancer diagnosis (you can read about that adventure in a post here) I knew two things: 1. I wanted a quilt to mark this chapter in my story and 2. I didn’t want to think, I just wanted to mindlessly sew.

A fellow quilter that I’ve “known” on instagram since my early insta days saw that I was wanting to make an all pink Top Knot quilt. (Pattern by Pen and Paper Patterns) She said she could put together a pink bundle for me (including the starry background!)

This project is exactly what my hands and mind needed! I finished up all of my outstanding obligations and in the weeks leading up to surgery, I worked on my special quilt.

I was running out of time to get it finished, so I scrapped my original quilting plan and opted to quilt organic wavy lines across the quilt. It was one of those blessings in disguise as it turns out I absolutely adored how the quilting came out!!

Believe it or not, I STILL haven’t actually washed it to get the quilt crinkle yet. I just am so happy with how it looks (and a liiiiitle scared of color bleed. The back is the hot pink and orange starry)

This quilt kept me cozy all during recovery, and it’s definitely one that will always and forever hold a special place in my heart!!!!
